BEHIND THE GLASS, LTD
'Behind the Glass, Ltd.' IS a Special Model Railroad Photo Contest at the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Historical Model Railroad located on the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, California.:

This is a Special Model Railroad Photo Contest at the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Historical Model Railroad located on the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, California.
Everyone with a camera, cell phone, or a computer tablet with a camera, young and old, are invited to participate in the “Behind the Glass” model railroad photo contest.
This year there are four categories based on the type of equipment used: cell phones, computer tablets, simple “point-and-shoot “cameras, and “prosumer” type cameras.
There are four entry divisions this year, with two for youth – those between 15-18 years of age, and 14 and younger – in order to give a greater chance to participate. There are two divisions for adults - General and Professional. There is no charge to enter.
The protective “glass is down,” which will make taking photos even easier. The trains will be on stationary display; use of tripods is permitted. Entries will be set in via the ‘wetransfer.com’ web site to the NCNG Model Railroad whose members are the judges.
This is all happening Saturday March 2, 2013 between noon and 3:00 p.m. at the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Historical Model Railroad located on the Nevada County Fairgrounds, 11128 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley, California.
Winners will be announced at The Union Home and Garden Show, April 27-28, 2013 along with the award certificates.

The NCNG Historical Model Railroad is a historically accurate and operating scale
model of the famous Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad. Located
permanently in its own building on the Nevada County fairgrounds,
the historical model railroad exhibit and display is open during major fairground events, special en houses, as well as by
special arrangement with schools or visitors. The fully operational
Historical Model Railroad is built to 'On3' scale, and has models of the three major
towns served by the now gone NCNGRR - Nevada City, Grass Valley
and Colfax as well as historic points in-between. The original railroad
ran 22 miles from Nevada City, California, to the Southern Pacific mainline
at Colfax, California, between 1875 and 1942.

The NCNG Historical Model Railroad was incorporated in 1986 as the "N.C.N.G Project" and has steadily been improved
since then. The locomotives and rolling stock are historically accurate
and fully operational. The DCC controlled trains now boast special
features such as the 'train cam television' where visitors get an
'on-the-train' view from the perspective of riding the railroad
as it travels from town to town. The Historical Model Railroad is maintained and operated
by the N.C.N.G. Historical Model Railroad (originally known as the "NCNG Project") - a non-profit all volunteer organization dedicated
to maintaining and improving this Historical Model Railroad. For more information
