Enjoy a trip into history - visit the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Historical Model Railroad
An On3 scale historical model railroad exhibit, we hold special open houses for the public. Come join us as we celebrate the history of the "Never Come Never Go" railroad. Children well as adults may all learn a bit of history. Experience a 'ride' on the railroad with the on-train camera system and [new] station tv that gives children [and adults] realistic views looking from inside the layout.

- Come see us at the layout! - First Saturday of the month - Noon to 1:00 p.m. - If you are interested in model railroading, or the historical railroad history of Nevada County, we have something for you! The NCNG Historical Model Railroad is always looking for anyone interested in working on a historical model railroad (both skilled or beginning modelers) to help with the Historical Model Railroad, or historical buffs interested in being docents at our open houses. A special catagory for Junior Members ( 12-18, with an accompanying adult member) is also available. See Membership Info for more information. Do come by and check us out! [Special note - these work sessions are generally canceled whenerver there is a paid admission event at the fairgounds. There may be a parking fee at some free events held at the fairgroungs. Otherwise, park at Gate 1 and enter - the Historical Model Railroad is to the left. No Work Days scheduled for the months of January, August or December.]

• Special Open House of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Historical Model Railroad - a historic model of the NCNG railroad showing the stations of Nevada City, grass valley, Chicago park and Colfax. Unique live-TV cameras on the trains and layout that give visitors the ‘hobo’ experience of riding the rails!
• Special live-steam demonstration of actual g-scale model railroad engines, plus NCNG RR Engine No 2 and its tank and NCNG box cars of the original NCNG RR. A large special G-scale "live steam" layout outside on the tarmac provided by Bay Area Garden Railway Society . (This outdoor display may be canceled if raining or snowing event day. Protective canopies provided.)
